Join us for a week of cycling that encompasses food and drink from northern Italy. This tour is for the more relaxed group of cyclists who value the importance of fine food equal to fine riding. See Tour Highlights below for a sample of the week.
You will be based in the region of Valle Camonica, which is rich in agriculture and food producers. You will have the opportunity to cycle through the beautiful surroundings including: vineyards, lakes, mountains and picturesque villages.
We will take you on a tour of the area with stops on the way to enjoy local products. If you prefer more freedom, then there is an option on this tour to self navigate, and we can provide you with information about the local producers and eateries.
Throughout the summer months there are numerous food festivals and fairs in neighbouring towns, one of the most famous is the chestnut festival which brings thousands of people to a small town on the lake called Pisogne. Along with the chestnuts there are many local cheeses, meats, sweets and chocolates to sample before deciding what to buy!
Throughout your stay, we visit the old town of Brenato towards the region of Franciacorta, where we will stop at vineyards for you to sample the products before stopping for lunch.
As we will be travelling with a support vehicle, you will be able to purchase wines to take home. We will circumnavigate the lake, and stop at our favourite ‘pranzo d’lavoro’ (working lunch) restaurant in Pisogne. Throughout the week we will be visiting producers of cheese, olives, sausages, honey and fruit in the area and will observe demonstrations, taste products and even have lunch.
There will be the opportunity for us to take you to local restaurants in the evening should you prefer to eat out on some evenings (at your own cost).
Wine tour and tasting at Ca’del Bosco
Casoncelli pasta making in traditional Italian Sellar which we will enjoy as our evening meal.
Discover the olive groves and see how olive oil is produced.
Visit Valle Camonica’s finest honey making production. Sample honey and observe the hives and skill of the honey bees at the Fattoria del Sole
Lombardia is rightly famous for its cheese and meats. Visit Le Frise where we will enjoy local cheeses, hams and conserves as our lunch.
We are finalising a detailed itinerary for this tour. Details will be here shortly. If you are interested, and want to be sent details when available, just click below and as soon as we have further information we’ll send it straight to you!
