Day 1

Meals: Dinner
Hotel: Lake Iseo | Hotel Capovilla | Pisogne
Ride: 80km | 800m Climb

On arrival at the airport you will meet by one of our friendly staff and transferred towards the northerly tip of Lake Iseo. Pisogne is rightly considered to be one of the jewels of the crown of Lake Iseo. Hotel Capovilla the perfect place to ride from, relax and unwind after long travel.

For those hiring bikes we will be available to do a bike fit and make any adjustments that maybe necessary. Fitting pedals, lights, saddles etc is our work and not yours! In the late afternoon we will head off on our first ride around Lake Iseo with a short climb to Vigolo the perfect way to test the legs. The climb was used by Chris Froome often when he lived on the lake and indeed mentioned in his recent book.

Day 2

Meals: Breakfast | Dinner
Hotel: Lake Iseo | Hotel Capovilla | Pisogne
Ride: 95m | 1950m Climb

After a healthy breakfast and morning stretching session with Daniele we will take the road north up Valcamonica through many small villages before starting our climb at the pretty spa town, Boario Terme. Our satiation is Presolana which at 1200m is one of the smaller ski resorts in Lombardia. Popular with Milanese and visiting Swiss it is Presolona’s love affair with local boy Paulo Savoldelli and Giro stages which make the ride a must for any serious cyclist.

The decent from Presolana back down to the hotel is be enjoyed. Nearly 35km of pure adrenalin filled descending. The ride today typically takes 5 hours and you can look forward to plenty of time to relax and explore Pisogne before dinner is served once again in the hotel restraint.

Day 3

Meals: Breakfast | Dinner
Hotel: Lake Iseo | Hotel Capovilla | Lunch | Pisogne
Ride: 175km | 3950M Climb

Today is the hardest ride of the week. Four climbs that are sure to test the strongest of legs. We start by head north along the east of Lake Iseo, climbing Polavano, with spectacular views over Bergamo before descending in to Val Trompia. With the first climb behind us, heading north on the gradual climb up the Valley we take a sweeping left and ride spectacular Val Palot. But this is just the warm!

On arrival back on Lake Iseo we once again head north towards the high Alps. After 20km of relative flat we start the climb of the incredibly challenging and unforgiving Crocedomani. 22km of pure scent, no rest and certainly no prisoners. A stretch of gravel road without equal anywhere in Lomabrdia, a speedy descent and a further climb (from the other side) of Presolona. What day. Oh - and a gorgeous stop for lunch.

Day 4

Meals: Breakfast | Dinner
Hotel: Lake Iseo | Hotel Capovilla | Pisogne
Ride: 50km | 2500m Climb

A more leisurely start to the day as after breakfast overlooking Lake Iseo we give you time to observe Italian life, unspoilt by mass tourism and retaining a so much of what is good about life. Today’s ride is stunning. We head south away from Pisogne towards the wine region of Franciacorta. It is difficult to imagine two contrasting areas to cycle (Lake Iseo and Franciacorta). Within 10 minutes we leave the shores of the Lake and wind our way through endless vineyards boasting some of the most famous names in Italian wine production.

A challenge of the day is the wickedly steep San Fermo. It is Daniele’s opinion that this will be the hardest climb for the majority of cyclists joining us. The wonderful views and quiet roads will now be customary but will still leave you breathless. The ride back to the hotel is less challenging with a short punching 2km to finish.

Day 5

Meals: Breakfast | Dinner
Hotel: Lake Iseo | Hotel Capovilla | Pisogne
Ride: 185km | 3700m

Today is crazy hard. The fifth day of riding is often when cyclists suffer most and with Moritolo the destination this will be sure to be on your most memorable days on the bike. It isn’t easy to put in the words how challenging Mortirolo is, the classic side which we ride from Mazzo is world famous. Have a read below the words of Mark Cavadish..

“it’s Savage, f**king Savage unbelievably steep and it just goes on and on if you asked me to sum it up in two words I’d say “steep” and “long” actually make that 3 words “long” “steep” and “sick”

Day 6
