Stages of your Tour

  1. hrusevica

    20km | Rolling

    Our friendly team will meet you at the designated airport or previously arranged destination. We will then transfer you to your hotel and on arrival a welcome drink awaits. After time to relax, our staff will be on hand to assist with a bike fit. Our ride in the early evening heads north along a mixture of gravel and tarmac roads. You will wind your way through magical farms and small villages. The loop will last around 80 minutes and we will arrive back at the hotel in time for dinner. The superb hotel restaurant menu is inspired by the morning’s local fresh produce.

  2. POSTONJA

    30km | ROLLING

    After breakfast we invite you to join our the meditation teacher to start to the perfect day. We will leave today’s ride in the mid-morning. The ride back to the hotel is a rolling 12km. On arrival at the hotel there is time to relax before we transfer you to the awe-inspiring Postojna Cave. The most amazing tour awaits, including a train ride into the cave followed by a guided tour. This evening we enjoy dinner in a small village near the hotel. Slovenia’s cuisine is similar to Italy’s, and you are sure to find something to tempt the tastebuds.

  3. LAKE BLED

    35km | Flat

    This morning after a leisurely breakfast we transfer to beautiful Kropa. Here we will start today’s ride to Lake Bled. The ride around the lake is a must, and you will have time to explore Bled before enjoying one of the restaurants on the lake. The afternoon you can enjoy the castle over-looking Lake Bled and the countryside. Dinner this evening is enjoyed in one of our favourite local restaurants before a transfer back to the hotel.

  4. sUNRISE LOOP

    16km | Rolling

    This morning before breakfast we invite you to join us for a sunrise ride. This gentle final ride gives you the perfect opportunity for some fabulous photos as you watch the sunrise over the mountains before a wonderful final Slovenian breakfast. In the late morning we will assist with onward travel and those that wish can transfer to Venice Airport.


BIKE HIRE

The perfect cycling holiday requires pedalling on the perfect bike. So should you not wish to bring your own bike with you we have a number of beautiful bikes that you can hire at very reasonable prices. Where to meet?

Please arrange to meet us at Venice airport at 10:00 - Day 1. We will contact you via WhatsApp in the days leading up to the start of your tour to confirm your transfer and the name of the staff member collecting you. Alternative transfers can be arranged but may incur an additonal cost.

Drop off Location?

We can assist you with planning and booking of onward travel following the conclusion of your tour. We will run one morning transfer to Milan airports.

Transfer Time

Please consider eating lunch before we collect you from Venice. The transfer time from Venice to the Prestranek is around 1.5 - 2 hours (Day 1).

Riding in the Slovenia

The general road conditions in Slovenia are good with many cycle paths and quiet roads.
Cuisine

The food is excellent in Slovenia. Restaurants now cater for both vegan and vegetarians. Home made local wines and beer a must to try.

Hotel Facilities

Hotel Pira has a spa and we recommend bringing swimming costumes. The hotel also has a laundry service, good wifi and bar service. The hotel may charge extra to use some of these facilties.
Private Tours & Groups

We welcome the opportunity to discuss a private tour with you should you be in a group of six or more. A private tour allows you to choose dates and personalise the itinerary according to your requirements.

Weather

Our highly experienced local guides check the weather on a daily basis and amend rides accordingly - should there be a need. The average summer temperature in and around the lakes can range from 20°C-30°C (68°F-86°F).
